We are the Government body that regulates the private hearing aid market. To sell a hearing aid in the UK you must be registered with us and meet our standards of education, training and conduct. You can complain to us if you are worried someone may not meet our standards or is selling hearing aids illegally.

HAC December and January opening hours announced - September 28th, 2008
The HAC office will be closed to public from 4.00pm on Friday 19th December 2008 until 8.30am on Monday 5th January 2009. The office will be open as usual at all other times.

Chairman’s letter sent to all registrants - August 18th, 2008
Our Chairman, Chris Hughes, wrote to all registrants to update them on our transfer to the Health Professions Council, our ongoing consultations and more. Enclosed with the letter was an invitation from BSHAA to participate in their complaints resolution scheme, which the HAC supports. HAC and HPC launch joint consultation on standards and qualification entry level for HPC register - July 16th, 2008
Together with the HPC, we are consulting on the clinical standards dispensers will have to meet when they are regulated by the Health Professions Council. We are also consulting on the minimum level of education new dispensers will need to join the HPC register.
