Meetings and Governance

Our decisions are made by members in Council or committees meetings. The Council and its committees discuss a range of issues concerning the professional training, performance and conduct of dispensers and their employers. We have rules and procedures that govern how these meetings work, and how we make decisions. We publish these rules in our corporate governance framework. You can read these rules in our corporate governance framework. You can read the framework, find out information about the Council’s committees, meeting dates and items for discussion and decision, here:

We are a public body. As such, we have a responsibility to make fair decisions, and to be transparent and equitable in everything we do. We have a responsibility to ensure our finances are sound and to achieve value for money. Each year we are audited by the Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform and by the National Audit Office before our annual accounts are laid before Parliament. You can read our annual reports here.
Council members and staff are also required to provide information on their outside interests. This includes information on their membership of any public bodies, their employment and any other information that may influence the decisions they make as Council members. The Register of interests is available here.
